The house is located in the Peruvian desert, at the top of a cliff that overhangs the Pacific Ocean.
The house is conceived of as a plain rectangular volume "excavated" by narrow open spaces that mimic cracks in hardened sand, and protected from wind and sun where circulation follows natural topography.
The mild desert climate allows an architecture that merges the limits between exterior and interior spaces. A predominantly abstract vocabulary constitutes the most appropriate medium for integrating with the desert landscape. Life is sheltered in the interior, protected by a large, double-height loggia.
