The project proposes building density with individual houses, yet also providing private and public gardens in the city centre only a few meters away from Roubaix town hall. The purpose of this design is to reduce the exodus of families to the suburbs and reintroduce a sense of identity within the historical center of the city.

Two type of dwellings are proposed: the " patio houses " inside the block, that follow the urban typology of Northern France "courrées", and the " vertical houses", alongside the street, that respond to the urban scale and city's regulations. All the houses are displayed in a way that allows the south/south-west sun exposure of the gardens and winter gardens.
