Perú fue el país invitado de la BAL 2021, que reúne a jóvenes arquitectos de Latinoamérica en Pamplona, España. Como parte del evento, fueron invitados Sandra Barclay, Jean Pierre Crousse, David Mutal y Enrique Ciriani. Sharif Kahatt curó la muestra sobre arquitectura peruana expuesta en la bienal.

LATIN AMERICA ARCHITECTURE BIENNALE AT PAMPLONA

Peru was the invited country at the BAL 2021, which gathers Latin America’s best young architects. As part of the biennale, lectures from renowned Peruvian architects were given by Sandra Barclay, Jean Pierre Crousse, David Mutal, and Enrique Ciriani. Sharif Kahatt curated the exhibition about Peruvian architecture.

The jury of the 17th Venice Biennale, integrated by Sandra Barclay, Lamia Goreige, Leslie Lokko and presided by Kazuyo Sejima, announced the winners on August 30 at Ca Giustiniano, following 4 days of visits and deliberations.

JEAN PIERRE CROUSSE CURADOR GENERAL DE LA BIALIMA 2021

La semana central de la Primera Bienal Internacional de Arquitectura de Lima (BIALIMA 2021), organizada por el Colegio de Arquitectos del Perú - Regional Lima, se llevó a cabo del 9 al 14 de agosto, bajo la curaduría de Jean Pierre Crousse. La Bienal tuvo una duración de casi 6 meses, cerrando con la entrega de proyectos innovadores para la ciudad al Alcalde de Lima, el 16 de setiembre. En ella participaron 88 conferencistas de 19 países, así como 30 oficinas emergentes latinoamericanas que dirigieron el workshop Futuros Posibles, contando con 1000 participantes. Lourdes Giusti, Decana CAP-RL fue la presidenta de la BIALIMA, y la organización fue liderada por Miguel Gómez.

JEAN PIERRE CROUSSE GENERAL CURATOR OF THE BIALIMA 2021

The first Architecture Biennale of Lima (BIALIMA 2021), curated by Jean-Pierre Crousse and organized by the Peruvian Institute of Architects, had its main events on August 9 - 14. The Biennale lasted almost six months, ending on September 16th with the presentation of innovative projects for Lima to the mayor. The Biennale counted 88 lecturers from 19 countries and showcased the work of 30 emergent practices of Latin America, making proposals for Lima in a workshop with 1000 participants. Lourdes Giusti was president of the Biennale and the organization lead by Miguel Gómez.

La Red de Bienales de América Latina (RedBAAL) presenta en el congreso de la UIA una muestra con los participantes del premio ON en sus tres ediciones, acompañada de las conferencias magistrales por Barclay & Crousse de Perú, Productora de México y Beals & Lyon de Chile, ganadores del premio en 2016, 2018 y 2020 respectivamente. OSCAR NIEMEYER PRIZE AT UIA 2021 CONFERENCE IN RIO DE JANEIRO

The Latin America network of Biennales (RedBAAL) presents at UIA Conference an exhibition of the nominated projects for the ON Prize in its three editions, jointly with lectures by Barclay & Crousse or Perú, Productora of México y Beals & Lyon of Chile, winners of the 2016, 2018 and 2020 prizes, respectively. EL PAISAJE PERUANO - LANDSCAPE IN CENTRAL ANDES GOES PUBLISHED IN ENGLISH

Thanks to a collaboration between Diego Portales University in Chile and Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru, the essay by Jean Pierre Crousse has been reedited in an English/Spanish bilingual version. A presentation and conversation around the book will be held on June 25, between the author, Claudio Magrini (UDP-Chile), Ana María Durán (PUCE-Ecuador), and Julián Restrepo (Colombia).

The Board of Directors of La Biennale di Venezia has appointed, upon recommendation by the Curator Hashim Sarkis, the international Jury of the 17th International Architecture Exhibition. El proyecto propone casas superpuestas que poseen las ventajas de la casa de campo, rodeada de naturaleza, en pleno centro de San José.

“DUO” TO BE LAUNCHED IN COSTA RICA

This late April will see the presentation to the public of “Duo, elevated houses,” an apartment building with an innovative design, done in partnership between Jaime Rouillon and Barclay & Crousse. The project proposes dwellings with the advantages of countryside houses, surrounded by nature, in the heart of San Jose City.

La edición 1044 de la revista italiana Domus ha seleccionado las 50 mejores nuevas oficinas del 2020, “cuya obra está guiada por principios de sostenibilidad, y cuyos edificios tienen un impacto positivo profundo en los medios ambientes donde se insertan”. BARCLAY & CROUSSE INCLUDED IN THE 50 BEST ARCHITECTURE FIRMS 2020

The Domus Magazine, in its number 1044, has selected this year’s 50  best young architecture practices whose work is driven by sustainable principles and whose buildings have had a deep positive impact on the enviromnent they are set. A scientific comitee guided by Vittorio Magnano Lampugnani, was integrated by Luis Fernandez Galiano (Arquitectura Viva), Sarah Whiting (Dean at Harvard GSD), Rahul Mehrotra (Chair of the UPD department at Harvard GSD) and Lesley Lokko (Dean of the Spitzer School of Architecture at the City College of New York).
