BARCLAY & CROUSSE EN EL POLITECNICO DE MILÁN

Sandra y Jean Pierre participaron en Milano architecture workshop (MIAW) 2025, explorando las puertas españolas de la ciudad italiana, entre el 3 y el 15 de junio. Participaron también Belén Moneo (Madrid), Cristián Undurraga (Santiago de Chile), Nuno Graça Moura (Porto), Alcestis Rodi (Patras) y Patrick Fransen (Amsterdam).

BARCLAY & CROUSSE AT THE POLITECNICO OF MILAN

Sandra and Jean-Pierre participated in the Milano Architecture Workshop (MIAW) 2025, exploring the Spanish gates of the Italian city between June 3 and 15. Other participants were Belén Moneo (Madrid), Cristián Undurraga (Santiago de Chile), Nuno Graça Moura (Porto), Alcestis Rodi (Patras), and Patrick Fransen (Amsterdam).

CÁTEDRA LUIS BARRAGÁN

El Tecnológico de Monterrey, México, relanzó la Cátedra Luis Barragán, invitando a Sandra Barclay y Jean Pierre Crousse para inaugurar este nuevo ciclo con una visión renovada. La Cátedra fue interrumpida en el 2010 luego de 22 ediciones, en las cuales participaron grandes arquitectos como Shigeru Ban, Ricardo Legorreta, Glen Murcutt, Eduardo Soto de Moura, Charles Correa, Rogelio Salmona y Alberto Campo Baeza, entre otros. Inspirada en el legado de Luis Barragán, la cátedra del Tecnológico de Monterrey propone un espacio para explorar el significado del quehacer de nuestra disciplina hoy en día, desde la empatía, la generosidad y la necesidad de repensar nuestra práctica profesional. LUIS BARRAGÁN CHAIR

The Monterrey Tech in Mexico relaunched the Luis Barragán Chair, inviting Sandra Barclay and Jean-Pierre Crousse to inaugurate this new cycle with a renewed vision. The Chair was discontinued in 2010 after 22 editions, during which great architects participated, including Shigeru Ban, Ricardo Legorreta, Glen Murcutt, Eduardo Soto de Moura, Charles Correa, Rogelio Salmona, and Alberto Campo Baeza, among others. Inspired by the legacy of Luis Barragán, the Chair proposes a space to explore the meaning of our discipline's vocation today, based on empathy, generosity, and the need to rethink our professional practice. DECIMO ANIVERSARIO DEL PREMIO MIES DE LAS AMÉRICAS

Sandra Barclay y Jean Pierre Crousse asistieron como invitados especiales a la ceremonia de entrega de premios del MCHAP 2025, en el Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), habiendo sido ganadores del premio en el 2018. Mauricio Rocha, ganador de la edición 2023, actuó como miembro del jurado, que otorgó el premio 2025 al equipo de Marlon Blackwell por la escuela Thaden, en Arkansas, EE.UU.

TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE MCHAP AWARD

Sandra Barclay and Jean-Pierre Crousse attended the MCHAP 2025 award ceremony at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) as special guests, having won the award in 2018. Mauricio Rocha, winner of the 2023 edition, acted as a member of the jury, which awarded the 2025 prize to Marlon Blackwell's team for the Thaden School in Arkansas, USA.

CONFERENCIAS INAUGURALES EN DOS UNIVERSIDADES DE CHILE

Sandra Barclay y Jean Pierre Crousse dieron las conferencias inaugurales 2025 de las escuelas de arquitectura de la Universidad del Desarrollo y de la Universidad San Sebastián. El 6 de marzo realizaron una conferencia magistral conjunta para las sedes en Concepción de ambas universidades, que se realizó en el Teatro Regional del Biobío, diseñado por Smiljan Radiç. INAUGURAL LECTURES AT TWO CHILEAN UNIVERSITIES

Sandra Barclay and Jean Pierre Crousse gave the 2025 inaugural lectures at the architecture schools of Universidad del Desarrollo and Universidad San Sebastián. On March 6, they gave a joint keynote lecture for the Concepción branches of both universities, which was held at the Teatro Regional del Biobío, designed by Smiljan Radiç. INAUGURACIÓN DEL NUEVO COLEGIO FRANCO PERUANO

El 21 de marzo se inauguraron las nuevas instalaciones del colegio Franco Peruano, proyecto de Barclay & Crousse. Estuvieron presentes en la inauguración las autoridades del colegio, los profesores y alumnos, la embajadora de Francia, el Ministro de Comercio Exterior francés Laurent Saint-Martin, las diputadas francesas Eleonore Caroit y Pascale Got el Ministro de Educación del Perú, Morgan Quero, y el alcalde de Surco . Con esto culmina la construcción de la primera etapa en sitio ocupado, que incluye todas las áreas académicas, sin haber interrumpido las clases. OPENING OF THE RENEWED FRENCH PERUVIAN SCHOOL

On March 21, the new facilities of the Franco-Peruvian school, a project by Barclay & Crousse, were inaugurated. Present at the inauguration were the school authorities, teachers, and students, the French Ambassador, the French Trade Minister Laurent Saint-Martin, the Peruvian Minister of Education, Morgan Quero, and the French deputies Eleonore Caroit and Pascale Got. The construction of the first stage on the occupied site is achieved without interrupting classes. The project was the subject of an architectural competition, launched in 2018. More info here

ENTREGA DE RESULTADOS DEL TALLER EN YALE A LA COMUNIDAD DE MARAS Y PICHINGOTO

El 27 de febrero se realizó la entrega del libro “Visiones Entrelazadas” a Edwin Pizarro, dirigente de Marasal, que resume las propuestas hechas para las Salineras de Maras en el taller avanzado de la Universidad de Yale, dirigido por Sandra Barclay y Jean Pierre Crousse. Nos acompañaron en la entrega los Arquitectos César Aguirre y Enrique Estrada, de la Universidad Andina del Cusco, quienes fueron los socios locales del taller.

SHARING YALE ADVANCED STUDIO RESULTS WITH THE MARAS AND PICHINGOTO COMMUNITY

On February 27, the book “Intertwined Visions” was presented to Edwin Pizarro, leader of Marasal, which summarizes the proposals made for the Maras Salt Mines by the Yale advanced studio led by Sandra Barclay and Jean Pierre Crousse. We were joined in the presentation by Architects César Aguirre and Enrique Estrada, from the Universidad Andina del Cusco, who were the local partners of our studio.
