An ambitious project by the regional government of Moquegua, a Southern region of Peru, proposes a new civic center that integrate the regional headquarters to a commercial street mall, a public school and a municipal sports center.
The regional headquarters project is concentrated in a compact building, creating enough space for a civic public square that wasn’t in the brief. The circular form of the building refers to the unique geography of the region, with Cerro Baul as its formal an historic symbol, being the place where the first ancient cultures established in the South West of Peru.
