Los jurados finales del taller “Visiones Entrelazadas” se reunieron el 13 de diciembre, contando como jurados a Billie Tsien (EE.UU.), Francesca Hughes (Reino Unido), Loreta Castro (México), Mauricio Pezo (Chile) y Sunil Bald (EE.UU.) El taller estudió las Salineras de Maras (Perú), proponiendo ideas para reconciliar patrimonio, turismo y comunidad.
END OF FALL SEMESTER AT YALE
The final jurors for the Yale Advanced Studio “Intertwined Visions” met on December 13, with Billie Tsien (USA), Francesca Hughes (UK), Loreta Castro (Mexico), Mauricio Pezo (Chile) and Sunil Bald (USA) as jurors. The studio focused on the ancestral Maras salt mines in Cusco, Peru, proposing ideas for reconciling heritage, tourism and community.

Jean Pierre Crousse participó el 11 de noviembre en el Walton Critic Lecture Series de la Universidad Católica de Washington (CUA) con una conferencia sobre la obra reciente del estudio. Al día siguiente dio una segunda conferencia para LA.IDEA, afiliada al American Institute of Architects (AIA/DC), que tuvo lugar en la embajada del Perú en EE.UU. Jean Pierre Crousse took part in the CUA’s Walton Critic Lecture Series, giving a lecture on November 11. The next day, a second lecture was held at the Peruvian Embassy in Washington, organized by LA.IDEA and the AIA/DC. Alfredo Ferrero, Ambassador of Peru, noted the international presence of Peruvian architecture through the work of our practice.

INICIO DE SEMESTRE EN YALE
El 29 de agosto iniciaron las clases en la escuela de Arquitectura de la Universidad de Yale, en donde Sandra Barclay y Jean Pierre Crousse inauguraron su segundo año como Charles Gwathmey Visiting Professors in Practice. El taller de estudios avanzados de master, asistido por Andrew Benner, se enfocará en la problemática del patrimonio, producción y turismo, analizando las salineras de Maras, en Cusco. Entre los otros invitados extranjeros se encuentran Francis Keré, Mauricio Pezo y Sofía Von Ellrichshausen.
FALL SEMESTER AT YALE
Classes began at Yale University's School of Architecture on August 29, where Sandra Barclay and Jean Pierre Crousse inaugurated their second year as Charles Gwathmey Visiting Professors in Practice. Andrew Benner will join the advanced master's studies advanced studio, which will focus on the issues of heritage, production, and tourism, analyzing the salt mines of Maras in Cusco. Other foreign guests include Francis Keré, Mauricio Pezo, and Sofía Von Ellrichshausen.
NUEVO LIBRO MONOGRÁFICO
El 16 de julio se realizó la presentación del libro “L’oasi nella casa: Cinque case collettive di Barclay&Crousse a Lima”, editado por la editorial italiana Lettera Ventidue. El evento tuvo lugar en la Universidad de Catania, sede Siracusa, y contó con la presencia de los autores Francesco Cacciatore, Fabrizio Foti, junto con Sandra Barclay y Jean Pierre Crousse. NEW MONOGRAPHIC BOOK
On July 16, the presentation of the book “Oasis in the House: Five Collective Houses by Barclay&Crousse in Lima.”, edited by the Italian publishing house Lettera Ventidue. The event took place at the University of Catania in Siracusa, and was attended by the authors Francesco Cacciatore, Fabrizio Foti, together with Sandra Barclay and Jean Pierre Crousse. After the presentation, Sandra and Jean Pierre gave a keynote lecture to the academic community. More info here
PANELES MODULARES EN TIERRA
Luego de haber ganado el concurso de proyectos de creación, impulsado por la PUCP, este mes se hizo la evaluación de los primeros prototipos para los paneles prefabricados en tierra, que serán utilizados en el proyecto de la Facultad de Artes Escénicas, diseñado por Barclay & Crousse. El equipo multidisciplinario está conformado por Giuseppina Meli y Silvia Onis del Centro Tierra PUCP, el diseñador industrial Ricardo Geldres y los arquitectos Sandra Barclay y Jean Pierre Crousse.
PREFAB MODULAR PANELS TESTED
After winning the competition for creative projects promoted by the PUCP, the first prototypes for the prefabricated panels made of earth were tested. They will be used in the Faculty of Performing Arts project, designed by Barclay & Crousse. The multidisciplinary team comprises Giuseppina Meli and Silvia Onis of Centro Tierra PUCP, industrial designer Ricardo Geldres, and architects Sandra Barclay and Jean Pierre Crousse.

COLEGIO FRANCO PERUANO
El 23 de abril se realizó la ceremonia de colocación de la “primera piedra” del nuevo colegio, diseñado por Barclay & Crousse. Contó con la presencia de los ministros de Educación y de Cultura, el embajador de Francia y el alcalde de Surco, entre otras personalidades peruanas y francesas. Ese día se pudo apreciar el avance de la obra, iniciada realmente un mes antes.
FRENCH-PERUVIAN SCHOOL
The groundbreaking ceremony for the new school, designed by Barclay & Crousse, was held on April 23. The ceremony was attended by the Ministers of Education and Culture, the French Ambassador and the Mayor of Surco, among other Peruvian and French personalities. The siteworks actually begun a month earlier, and a site visit was organized for the authorities.

Incluso visitándola por tercera vez, India no deja de sorprender y ser una fuente de aprendizaje. Sandra y Jean Pierre se encontraron en el viaje con Daniel Bonilla y Marcela Albornoz de Colombia, conocieron a arquitectos talentosos como Uday Andhare de Indigo Architects y Tarun Singh Bhatia de Studio Mohenjodaro, se reencontraron con Gurjit Matharoo y mostraron su obra en el Sangath Conference Hall, organizado por Kushnu Hoof de los archivos Balkrishna Doshi. El viaje culminó disfrutando de la hospitalidad de la maravillosa artista Monika Correa.
TRIP TO INDIA
Even visiting for the third time, India never ceases to surprise and be a source of learning. Sandra and Jean Pierre met on the trip with Daniel Bonilla and Marcela Albornoz from Colombia, met talented architects such as Uday Andhare of Indigo Architects and Tarun Singh Bhatia of Studio Mohenjodaro, met again with Gurjit Matharoo and showed their work at the Sangath Conference Hall, organized by Kushnu Hoof of the Balkrishna Doshi archives. The trip culminated in enjoying the hospitality of the incredible artist Monika Correa.
