BARCLAY & CROUSSE WINS PERFORMING ARTS SCHOOL COMPETITION

PUCP publicly announced the results on September 17th. The new Performing Arts School project will have 10,000 sqm. in two construction phases. The execution plans will be developed through 2023, and construction kickoff is due the following year. More info here

BARCLAY & CROUSSE CURADORES DEL MÓDULO PERÚ EN LA ESCOLA DA CIDADE

El módulo de posgrado sobre geografía, ciudad y arquitectura de la Escola da Cidade será curado por Sandra y Jean Pierre y dirigido por Alvaro Puntoni y Fernando Viegas. El tema a estudiar estará ligado al patrimonio, la vulnerabilidad y las infraestructuras, teniendo como lugar de estudio el pueblo de Aguas Calientes, punto de arribo del ferrocarril para la visita de Machu Picchu. El proyecto será lanzado de manera presencial el 15 de agosto, en Sao Paulo.

BARCLAY & CROUSSE CURATORS OF GRADUATE STUDIO ABOUT PERU AT ESCOLA DA CIDADE

The Geography, City, and Architecture graduate program at the Brazilian school of architecture invited Sandra and Jean Pierre will curate the guests of the studio led by Alvaro Puntoni and Fernando Viegas. The research will consider topics such as heritage, vulnerability, and infrastructures, and will focus on Aguas Calientes, the town where Machu Picchu trains arrive before climbing to the Inca citadel. The studio starts on August 15 with a lecture by the curators.

BARCLAY & CROUSSE CHOSEN FOR PUCP PERFORMING ARTS SCHOOL SECOND STAGE

The architectural competition, organized by PUCP University, was open to studios lead by professors at the PUCP Architecture School. Were admitted at the second stage three teams: Llosa-Cortegana + Nomena; Poggione-Biondi + Tandem + Michelle Llona; and Barclay & Crousse. Results will be given in September.

SANDRA BARCLAY TO CHAIR THE 2022 MIES CROWN HALL AMERICAS PRIZE

The MCHAP announced on March 10 the jury and nominees of the 2022 cycle. The jury is composed of Jury Chair Sandra Barclay, Monica Bertolino, Alejandro Echeverri, Julie Eizemberg, Philip Kafka, and Dirk Deninson. The fourth prize cycle considers built works completed in the Americas between January 2018 to June 2021. There are more than 250 nominated works. More info here

HUAYOCCARI HOUSE IN EXHIBITION IN PARIS

The house designed by Barclay & Crousse was selected in a list of 33 emblematic house designs to be analyzed and exhibited in the Paris-Belleville School of Architecture. TRANSVERSAL GROUNDS EN HARVARD GSD

Sandra y Jean Pierre liderarán el taller de diseño urbano en el Graduate School of Design de la Universidad de Harvard, titulado Transversal Grounds. El taller continuará la investigación iniciada en el 2015 sobre los Agujeros Negros Urbanos, en la ciudad de Lima. Iniciará sus actividades a fines de enero y contará con la asistencia de Juan Villalón.

TRANSVERSAL GROUNDS AT HARVARD GSD

Sandra and Jean Pierre will lead a Urban Design studio at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, beginning on January 2022. Transversal Grounds continue the explorations and research initiated in 2015 about Lima’s Urban Black Holes. The studio will have Juan Villalon as a teacher assistant.

RESIDENCIA DE INVESTIGACIÓN EN LA ROCKEFELLER FOUNDATION

Luego de un proceso de nominación y selección, Sandra Barclay fue elegida para llevar a cabo una residencia de investigación multidisciplinaria de un mes en el Centro Bellagio (Italia). En ella participaron también la escritora y biógrafa Devony Looser, el científico social Sam Odom, la artista Amalia Pica, el músico Paul Elwood y la directora de la fundación Rasmuson, Diane Kaplan.

RESEARCH RESIDENCY AT THE ROCKEFELLER FOUNDATION

After a nomination and selection process, the Arts and Literary Arts fellowship at the Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Center (Italy) went to Sandra Barclay. The other fellow participants were Devony Looser (author and writer), Sam Odom (social scientist), the artist Amalia Pica (artist), Paul Elwood (musician and composer), and the Rasmuson Foundation director, Diane Kaplan.
